What the arcade is
Short pixel games where you chase a high score: dodge cars, hop between clouds, stack snacks, react to the lights. One run lasts a minute or two. Players share one avatar across every game and compete on daily, weekly, monthly and all-time boards. Our mascots are Ginny the pigeon, ParaGeet the parakeet and Poppy the honey badger.
Why it is safe
| Worry | What we did about it |
|---|---|
| Strangers talking to my child | There is no chat, no messaging, no voice and no way to type anything other players see. Players can send one fixed emote (a small picture, like a thumbs up) per run from a set we drew. |
| Rude or scary content | Every game is PG. Knockouts are dizzy stars, explosions are confetti. No blood, no weapons aimed at people, no horror, no politics, no real brands or real people. |
| Inappropriate names | Under 13 bands pick a name from our generated list. Older players' names pass a filter for rude words, real names, contact details and impersonation. |
| Spending | Players under 16 cannot buy gems. Coins are earned by playing. Nothing you can buy ever improves a score, so there is no pressure to pay to compete. No loot boxes, no random paid rewards. |
| Ads | There are no ads today. When they arrive they will be clearly labelled, never personalised for anyone under 16, and never for alcohol, gambling, dating, diets or anything else unsuitable for children. Pro members see none. |
| Tracking | No advertising trackers, no social-media pixels, no selling data. Full list in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice. |
| Pressure to keep playing | No pop-ups begging to come back, no countdown "offers", no streak punishments. The Daily Challenge is one run a day; missing a day just restarts the streak. |
| Cheating and bad sports | Every score is replayed on our server before it counts. Players who cheat or spam emotes are hidden from boards. |
Playing without an account
Your child can play every open game as a guest. We do not ask for a name, email or age. Progress is saved only on the device. The only thing stored about the device is a random identifier used to run the game and protect the arcade; it is never used for ads and never linked to a person.
Accounts and age
To make an account a player must be at least 13, or older where local law sets a higher age of digital consent (14 in Quebec, up to 16 in parts of the EU). Younger players keep playing as guests. We ask for an age band at sign-up and store only the band.
Every account under 16 gets kid-safe defaults that cannot be switched off: generated name, no gem purchases, no personalised ads, highest privacy settings.
Your rights as a parent or guardian
Write to privacy@pixelgames.app and we will:
- Tell you whether your child has an account and what it holds.
- Let you review it, correct it or delete it, including any scores.
- Refund any purchase made by a child under 16.
- Stop collecting anything beyond what guest play needs.
We may ask you to confirm you are the parent or guardian. We answer within 30 days and usually much faster.
Tips
- Install the arcade as an app from the lobby. It then runs full screen without browser tabs.
- The avatar builder is a good first stop: it is creative, calm and has no scores.
- If something looks wrong in a game, the pause menu has a Report a bug button. The note field is seen only by us.
- Device-level screen time controls (iOS Screen Time, Google Family Link) work with the app like any other.
