What Beta Lab is
Every new game or big update goes through the Beta Lab before it reaches the main arcade. A game graduates after 100 plays from at least 20 players with zero crashes, an error rate under 1% and every ranked score passing the server check. A bug fix restarts the count. The Beta Lab page shows each game's progress.
Beta boards
- Beta scores live on the Beta board only and never reach the Hall of Fame.
- When a game's version changes, its Beta board starts fresh. We may also reset a Beta board after a scoring bug.
- Coins earned in Beta games are real and stay with you.
What gets sent to us
| When | What | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| A game crashes or hits an error | Game and version, where in the run, the error text, browser and screen size, the last few in-game actions. Sent automatically. No name or email. | The studio |
| You tap Report a bug | A category you pick, an optional 280-character note, a picture of the game screen (the canvas only, not your whole screen), and the run's input log. | The studio only. Notes are never shown to other players. |
| You play a Beta game | A count of the play, whether it finished, and whether the score verified, so the promotion counter works. | Aggregated on the public Beta Lab page |
Please keep personal details out of bug notes. Reports are kept for 12 months and then deleted.
Tester rewards
When we confirm a bug you reported first, your account gets the tester badge and a coin bonus. Rewards are cosmetics and coins only, never gems or score.
